To end our ‘Rocks, soils and fossils’ science unit, Year 3 handled different types of rocks and fossils from Lapworth Museum. The children were excited to see large samples of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks, making careful observations that linked back to their lessons. We even looked closely at a Smilodon skull and some dinosaur claws!
