Maths Week in Y3

For Maths week, we have been busy doing lots of investigations in Year 3. We started off the week planning a day out with only £100 to spend. We chose the number of people who would go on this trip, how much it would cost them and how much change they would have left. We had volunteers from HSBC who came into school to teach us about exchange rates around the world.
We have also been learning about angles and lines and explored the artworks of Wassily Kandinsky and tried to find as many right angles, acute angles and obtuse angles we could find. We have counted 46 right angles so far! We explored flags and sorted them into groups depending on the type of lines that were used; horizontal, vertical, perpendicular or parallel. We designed our artwork using various angles taking inspiration from Kandinsky.
