2C had a fantastic time at Stirchley Library today – we got to listen to some stories, look around the books and also found out how the library works. Many children have taken home a form so they can sign up! 🙂
Y2 have been completing some oral story telling and drama around the 3 Billy Goats Gruff as part of National Story Telling Week. They created story maps to help them retell the story.
Have a look at Year 2’s DT project – they have been making a moveable picture book around their topic this half term, the Victorians. They have been using levers to make things move in the book. Reggie the Reading Raccoon has really been enjoying reading the book too!
Take a look at Year 2’s William Morris inspired printing art day!
This week the children in Y2 have enjoyed getting to know Leaf. We have discussed feelings and emotions and incorporated that through a mixture of writing, drama and freeze frame.
We have also begun to look at habitats which we will be exploring further over the coming weeks.
Here are some pictures of Y2 children’s models from their maths session today. They were able to use their knowledge of 2d and 3d shapes to help them create their buildings.
Year 1 and 2 were lucky to be involved in the Flatpack Festival. We learnt about animation and compared some film clips. During the day we had the chance to explore different ways of making a piece of art. We decorated a stone, made a moving bird and a picture using light. We placed dried flowers on some paper and passed them through the lamp.
We think they look amazing!
