Year 1 have settled in so well this week, playing and learning well with each and their teachers are very proud of them.

We have been learning about routines and rules this week; how to show we are listening, how to walk in the corridors and our school expectations of sitting and listening in assemblies. In maths we have been exploring sorting objects alongside playing maths team games. In english we have been reading The Little Red Hen traditional tale and the children have been writing lists, reciting the story with mime and actions, they completed a story map too.

In R.E. we have been focusing on belonging and what it means to be in a family.

The children have also started to learn a song called Hey You! in music, which will progress and develop over the next 8 weeks. Well done Year 1.
